JCDecaux was a Media Partner at the 2018 Shared Value Summit and Mark Cooper CEO of JCDecaux Sub-Saharan Africa, was honoured to be one of the key speakers at this Summit.
Fifty years on, JCDecaux's success still rests on its founding economic model: providing cities and transport companies with products and services financed by advertising space. The company is the n°1 worldwide in outdoor advertising and is now present in over 75 countries, anticipating changes in lifestyle with innovative solutions tailored to the needs of citizens and advertisers.

Achieving economic growth while respecting people and the environment is at the heart of our model. Sustainable development is a central element in JCDecaux's competitiveness. Over the years, as its business has expanded, the company has demonstrated its commitment, firstly through proactive quality policies and, more recently, through a comprehensive approach to our corporate social responsibility covering environmental, social and stakeholder issues.
To bring about these changes, we have drawn on our three founding values, shared by all our employees: passion, quality and innovation.

The transversal approach of Sustainable Development allows the company to anticipate future changes that may impact its business and to study the risks and market opportunities. For JCDecaux, the integration of Sustainable Development in the company’s strategy facilitates the management of risks related to environmental and social challenges and is a driver of innovation and an asset to medium and long-term economic development.

Through our Sustainable Development Strategy and our actions to support the emergence of smart and sustainable cities and mobility services, JCDecaux is involved in 9 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals laid down by the United Nations.

JCDecaux’s Sustainable Development Strategy comprises six priorities, balanced between the three pillars of sustainable development: environment, social and stakeholders.
The objective of this Strategy is to coordinate the group’s action in the field of sustainable development.

JCDecaux was a Media Partner at the 2018 Shared Value Summit and Mark Cooper CEO of JCDecaux Sub-Saharan Africa, was honoured to be one of the key speakers at this Summit.

Mr Cooper addressed JCDecaux’s long standing commitment of expressing our entrepreneurial mindset and shared determination to make cities more attractive, more accessible and more sustainable in all the countries where the company operates, in conjunction with internationally renowned architects and designers.

“As JCDecaux, we constantly need to be forwarding-looking in order to provide urban services which are environmentally friendly, highly functional and consistent with our core values. Continues innovation is needed in the African continent, and businesses have the power to implement it”, says Cooper.
